The first book in the Bible Decoded series. Genesis Decoded returns to the original Hebrew and explores familiar stories through the meanings, patterns and ideas that can become obscured when ancient language is carried into modern translation.
Chapter by chapter, it looks again at Genesis and asks what these stories reveal about language, imagination, identity, human behaviour and the way we create meaning.

What we found gave us a language for experiences we had struggled to explain before. It connected ideas about identity, language, behaviour, belief and personal responsibility in a way that changed how we understood our own lives.
